If you have seen those clean little subscribe popups with a logo, channel name, and a bell ring animation, you can make one for your channel in just a few minutes. No expensive software required.
Why use a subscribe animation
It reminds new viewers to subscribe without interrupting your content
It looks professional and helps build brand recognition
It can boost engagement when timed with your call to action
The tool I am using
I use a site called Profound Income. I am not affiliated with them, I just like how simple their subscribe animation tool is. They have a YouTube section with a Subscribe Animation generator that lets you add your logo and channel name, pick a style, and export a ready to use clip. There is a free option with a short render queue, so you can get it done without paying.
Getting started
Go to the Profound Income website. In the top menu, find the YouTube dropdown, then choose Subscribe Animation. They also have other tools for YouTube assets if you want to explore later.
Filter by Free. On the right side of the page, click the plan filter and select Free. This shows the templates you can use without a paid plan. You should see around six solid subscribe options that are already set up with nice animations.
Browse the templates. You will see different styles, from minimal buttons to more playful designs with a cursor click and bell notification animation. Pick one that matches your channel’s tone. I currently use one of these free options on my own videos, and I am considering trying another one I liked for a future upload.
Customize your animation. Click into the template you want. You can typically change:
Style or color variations within the template
Your channel name text
Your channel logo
Tips for better results
Use a transparent PNG for your logo so it blends cleanly
Keep your channel name clean and short if possible
Match colors to your brand palette for consistency
Choose the right export. After you preview and confirm your customization, continue to the export step. Select the Green Screen background option for your download. You may see a Transparent option, but in my experience transparent exports do not always come out perfectly. Green screen is consistent, and it is easy to key out the background in your editing software with an Ultra Key or Chroma Key effect.
Render and download. Your animation will enter a queue. Since it is a free service, expect a brief wait, usually just a couple of minutes. Once it is ready, download the file to your computer.
How to remove the green screen in your editor
You will use a chroma key effect in your video editor. The effect name varies:
Adobe Premiere Pro: Ultra Key
Final Cut Pro: Keyer
DaVinci Resolve: 3D Keyer or Chroma Keyer
CapCut or Filmora: Chroma Key
Basic steps are the same across editors:
Place the green screen animation on a track above your main video
Apply the chroma key effect to the animation clip
Use the eyedropper to select the green background
Adjust similarity or tolerance until the green disappears cleanly
Tweak edge softness and spill reduction to refine the edges
If you want a walkthrough of green screen keying, I already have a dedicated tutorial. I link it in my video and reference it in my content for anyone who needs a step by step breakdown.
Where to position your subscribe animation
Bottom right is the most common spot, since it is near YouTube’s built in branding watermark
Bottom left can work well if you already have other on screen elements on the right
Keep it away from captions or face cams so it does not block anything important
Timing tips
Trigger it when you ask viewers to subscribe, usually after your hook or before a value shift
Keep the duration short, around 3 to 5 seconds, so it feels snappy and non intrusive
If you use a bell animation, time your voiceover to mention notifications right as the bell rings
How often should you show it
Use it once per video in most cases. You can bring it back again during a final call to action at the end, but avoid overusing it. The goal is to remind, not distract.
Other assets you might want
Profound Income has a few other options, but I also use a different service for outros and end screens for my other projects. If you want me to cover that tool and how I set up end screens for maximum click through rate, drop a comment and I will make a separate guide.
Troubleshooting
Jagged edges around the animation: Increase spill suppression and soften edges slightly in your keyer settings
Colors look off after keying: Lower the key strength or adjust the color range to avoid eating into your logo
File looks low resolution: Try re exporting at a higher quality if available, or choose a template marked HD
Transparent download not working: Stick with the green screen option, it is more reliable for most editors
Why this workflow works
You get a branded, professional subscribe animation without having to design keyframes or learn motion graphics
Green screen export keeps you in full control in your editor, so you can place the animation wherever you want
The free tier is enough for most creators, especially if you are just starting out and want to test formats
Final thoughts
If you want more subscribers, make it easy and inviting for viewers to take action. A clean, branded subscribe animation catches the eye, supports your call to action, and elevates the production quality of your channel. With Profound Income’s free tool, you can go from idea to finished asset in a few minutes. Choose a template, add your logo and channel name, export with green screen, key it out in your editor, and you are done.
